Questions parents ask
What is the difference between an author and an illustrator?
The author is the person who wrote the book, and the illustrator is the person who drew the pictures. On the front cover, the little word by tells you the author, and illustrated by or pictures by tells you the illustrator. Sometimes one person does both jobs. The title is the name of the book.
What age is this lesson for?
It is made for children aged 5 to 9 (Kindergarten to Grade 3). The video teaches parts of a book through a story with songs and memory tricks, then the worksheet game lets them practise it.
Is it free?
Yes. The video, the online worksheet game and the printable PDF with an answer key are all free, with no sign-up.
